Vimala Raman, born 23 January 1982 in Sydney, Australia, is a versatile actress, Bharatanatyam dancer, and former model active across South Indian cinema, including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and even English films. A graduate with a B.Sc in Information Systems from the University of New South Wales, she began her journey into arts early—training in Bharatanatyam from the age of five. In 2004, her charisma and talent earned her the crown of Miss India Australia.
Vimala’s big-screen debut was the Tamil film Poi (2006), after which she transitioned into Malayalam cinema with Time (2007), co-starring Suresh Gopi.
