Laura Leggett Linney (born February 5, 1964) is a highly respected American actress renowned for her work across film, television, and stage. Raised in Manhattan, New York, Laura is the only child of Romulus Linney—a celebrated playwright and professor—and Miriam Anderson “Ann” Perse, a nurse at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center . She spent her childhood summers with her father in New Hampshire, where she discovered her passion for acting at age 11 through local theater involvement.
